My name is Flavia Martínez, I am a Mexican Director of Photography.
I graduated from the CCC (Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica).
In the very beginning of my carreer I was only interested in shooting fiction, but it was after shooting my first documentary as a Director, The mammalian Reflex that I realized the magic of shooting documentary. It is thanks to that project that I also fell in love with shooting underwater. I certified as a freediver, and since then, have been filming underwater, holding my breath.
Now, I find myself preparing an independent Mexican feature called "Ana´s desire", a great project that will be shot during the month of may this year.
I love still photography as well. To me, cinema and still photography are two disciplines that have accompanied me a long way, and I can´t imagine doing the one without the other.
